There will be constant surprises, prizes and activities for adults, teens and youngsters all weekend long. Maybe even a celebrity or two will stop by.

ATTENTION! EFL BIG WITH THE MILITARY
All around the world-wherever electricity has been available-our country's service men and women have been turning to Electric Football as a means of relaxation, entertainment and camaraderie. Plugged In! has reached out to several of the valiant members of the U.S. Military who play Electric Football to find out how our popular game fits into their demanding lives.
The shockwaves felt across the Pacific Ocean at Fort Shaffer on the island of Oahu, Hawaii, have not been from any recent volcanic eruptions -but rather from some thrilling Electric Football games, thanks to Sergeant Rodney Taylor. Originally from Midland, PA, Sgt. Taylor picked up an Electric Football game at a Toys R US near the base about a year ago and started a real buzz by playing the game he treasured as a kid.
Taylor admitted that interest started out slowly until two more EFL players, Sgt. Thomas Duval and Sgt. Tony Stevens, joined Taylor's unit at Fort Shaffer. "It was great when they came along. We play as often as we can and are in the process of starting up a league," stated Taylor. "The difference between this game and what is going on in the world is win, lose or draw, we all have peace in the end."
Sgt. Duvall, from Sandusky, OH, did not realize how popular Electric Football still was until Taylor re-introduced the game to him. Duvall told Plugged In!: "Playing EF is a great way to unwind and at the same time enjoy camaraderie with other soldiers. With the constant threat of being deployed to a combat zone, it is an excellent way to have fun and take your mind off of the job."
Sgt. Stevens, of Stevenson, AL, agreed, describing the game as "a great stress reliever where one can apply defensive and offensive tactics."
According to these three men, the hobby has been growing as a pastime among many of the soldiers at Fort Shaffer-from the ranks of lt. colonels down to the non-commissioned officers and from the U.S.A. to Afghanistan and beyond.
